Aliens: Fireteam Elite launched recently, giving both fans of the Alien series and cooperative shooters something to munch on over the next few weeks. When it comes to gameplay, anyone who is even slightly familiar with modern third-person shooters will have no problem getting used to the mechanics.
Play On Standard – Aliens: Fireteam Elite
There are three difficulty modes to choose from at first, with additional modes to be unlocked after completing the first campaign. Usually too easy for casual players, while Intense is punishing and best for second play with friends prepared with the right load and attachments. The standard provides enough resistance to stay engaged throughout the 12 missions.
Practice On Dodging
In Aliens: Fireteam Elite, the dodge is a great friend to have in this cooperative shooter. If one’s timing is good enough, most attacks can be dodged by rolling out of the way. Some enemies can drain up to 500 health with a brutal attack, so a good dodge can mean the difference between defeat and success. There is a stamina bar, but it regenerates quickly and one can dodge several times in a row before having to regenerate it.
Fighting Synths In The Second Area
There are four main activities divided into three levels each. Fortunately, players face more than just Xenomorphs. In the second operation, the marines mainly confronted the anthropomorphic enemy.
When fighting these enemies, simply standing in the middle of the room and shooting will not be enough. Play it as a more traditional cover-based shooter against synths. When big enemies come, shoot tanks in their back as a weak point.
Challenge Cards – Aliens: Fireteam Elite
Requisition Scrip is a rarer currency used to purchase cosmetic items and Challenge Cards. You should spend money entirely on the latter.
Unless you really need to have a certain item, the Challenge Cards are really helpful in leveling up characters and making harder levels a little easier. Certain Challenge Cards make the level harder in some way but reward more experience and currency, while others make the level easier in some way with no penalty.
Use The Human Tank Card Carefully
Note that failing a mission will return the team to base, forcing the player to try the level all over again. Most quests last between 20 and 30 minutes, so losing in the last place is extremely frustrating and having to start the whole mission from scratch.
With this in mind, don’t be afraid to use the Human Tank Challenge Card, especially if you’re playing solo. This Challenge card doubles base health. Taking every opportunity to earn them will give the player at least three or four, more than enough to get through the more difficult levels later on.
Use Med-Kits – Aliens: Fireteam Elite
Each spacecraft can only hold one medical kit at a time. Anyone playing alone would be best served by using the med-kit in their inventory when another person shows up on a level to get the most out of the item.
If a player is using the Doc class, then someone can give up their health kit to refuel the Trauma Station ability. In a sequence where the player must defend a point from enemies, wait until after the sequence to replenish health to get the most out of the item.
