New Pokémon Snap – Alternate and season routes of Elsewhere Forest

Elsewhere Forest

In New Pokémon Snap, Elsewhere Forest, a foggy area with changing seasons, has two alternate routes. These alternate routes are not the same as the semi-random seasonal routes the level offers, as you will need to use your scanner to make these routes. You need to reach Research Level 3 to unlock these 2 routes.

Behind The Trevenant – Elsewhere Forest

Elsewhere Forest

The first alternative route in the Elsewhere Forest in the first fog. To unlock, you will need to play music when you see Trevenant by the blue rock floating on the right side. Trevenant will move and pave the way for you, allowing you to scan and follow that path.

There’s not much on this path, but if you throw an Illumina Orb at the Espeon, you can reach the winter zone. If you feed it Fluffruit, then you can go to the drop area. This route needs to be opened agian every time you run this level.

Reuniting The Sawsbuck And Deerling

The second alternative route opens up another end area for the Elsewhere Forest. Go to the third area where everything is foggy again and do the following:

  • Look immediately to the right and throw the Illumina Orb into the Crystabloom first. A baby Deer will approach it.
  • Throw an Illumina orb at the second Crystabloom, it will have the same Deerling approach to it.
  • Ignore the third Crystabloom you see right in front of you. Instead, throw the Illumina Orb at the fourth Crystabloom behind it. The baby deer will run-up to the flower.
  • Move forward a little, cross a large rock and throw the Illumina Orb into the fifth Crystabloom lying alone. An Espeon will come to it, along with Deerling. Sawsbuck will also go to it and reunite. Espeon will run forward on the map, and two deer Pokémon will run ahead and turn right.
  • Use your scanner to follow the newly opened path of Deerling and Sawsbuck.

This route shouldn’t have any new Pokémon, but you’ll find Deerling, Sawsbuck, Espeon, Lotad, Epurr, and a few others based on the seasonal area you’ve visited before.

This path will remain open after you first unlock it, so you won’t have to reunite Deerling and Sawsbuck every time you run it.

The Spring Route – Elsewhere Forest

To get the spring path, go through the first area normally, and throw Fluffruit for Espeon to eat, but don’t use it to hit Espeon. Once it sniffs the fruit, it runs first. If you hit the Espeon, it will run away and the path you get will be random.

This area has Kecleon, Shiftry, Bulbasaur, Unfezant, as well as Deerling and Sawsbuck spring forms.

The Summer Route

To get the summer path, you’ll need to hit the Espeon with the Illumina Orb as you go through the normal path.

This area has Pancham, Drampa, Bulbasaur, Unfezant, Shiftry, and summer forms of Deerling and Sawsbuck.

The Fall Route – Elsewhere Forest

Elsewhere Forest

To take the fall route, you’ll need to take an alternate route. You can do this by playing the music for the Covenant which will be to your right, near the floating green rock. It will move out of the way, opening up a route that you can scan and go. As you go in this direction, Espeon will follow you. Throw Fluffruit on the ground near the Espeon for it to eat, but do not throw it at the Espeon. Once it sniffs the fruit, it will run forward and you will reach the drop area.

This area features Applin, Unfezant, Serperior, and fall versions of Deerling and Sawsbuck.

The Winter Route

Elsewhere Forest

To take the winter route in Elsewhere Forest, you’ll need to take an alternate route. You can do this by playing the music for the Covenant which will be to your right, near the floating green rock. It will move out of the way, opening up a route that you can scan and go. As you go in this direction, Espeon will follow you. Throw the Illumina Orb at the Espeon to get to the winter zone. If you skip the Espeon, you’ll end up in the summer area.

This area has Gardevoir, Bewear, Unfezant, Ninetails, and winter forms of Deerling and Sawsbuck.
