Mortal Kombat 11: Basic Tutorial for Playing Kollector

Kollector is a tribute collector for the Outworld Empire. Born into poverty, he held the royal collector’s duty with a zeal that impressed Shao Kahn. He stole the wealth of the Outworld people, rewarding himself with wealth and status in turn. He would kill anyone to keep it.

Strategy of Kollector

Kollector is a rushdown character with long-range attacks. In the Back in the Pack variant, he has access to a command, giving him dangerous combos at close range, as well as the ability to teleport across the screen. His Spare Change variant allows him to throw potions at opponents, leaving flames that deal damage on contact. His Squander variant allows him to throw chakrams and pull opponents over to his relic for more combo paths.

  • Slow movement

Combo Starters of Kollector

His main combo starter comes from his Ravages of Time (Circle + Circle + Cross) series. This is a long-range high attack, mostly safe to use from afar. If blocked make sure not to end the chain as it will put him in a penalty of -20. Even though the 2nd attack is -10 on the block, it’s still safe at maximum range. The final attack is a low attack that will fling the opponent upwards to form a combo.

Additionally, Kollector can cast Damned Bola (Back + Forward + Circle) and Amplify it, which will bind the opponent to a combo. Damned Bola is often used after strings like Square, Cross, and Forward + Square, Triangle. In his Squander’s variant, War-quoit Toss (Back + Forward + Circle) replaced Damned Bola as a starter combo.

Combo Enders

His combos usually end with Shotel Fury (Down + Back + Cross), which will put the opponent close when knocked down. Amplifying Shotel Fury will deal maximum damage while holding Back after Amplifying swaps positions with an opponent.

An alternative solution is to finish combos with Forward + Triangle, Triangle, Square + Cross which will also switch positions without having to waste meters. In his Back in the Pack variant, the combos end with Demonic Clutch (Down + Back + Forward + Cross), dealing more damage compared to Shotel Fury.

Ravages of Time

Ravages of Time (Circle + Circle + Cross) is his strongest attack to use at mid-range. Circle, Circle, Cross allows Kollector to attack enemies from a distance safely with his mace. This chain’s first hit is a high of -6 on the block and can be safely staggered.

The second hit is a mid hit of -10 on the block, but safe when properly spaced. Since there’s a slight lag between the 2nd and 3rd innings, the 2nd turn can also be swayed by the pressure. The last attack is low and can be punished at -20 when blocking.

The low must always be respected due to the threat being launched for a combo, which will allow Kollector to wobble the chain. Despite the fact that each of Circle, Circle, and Cross’s attacks can be completely blocked, many imperfect block attacks will be emitted when executed at maximum range.
