Below the post will list the top 5 heroes that will benefit the most from it. However, Support Aghanim’s Shard does not give the same stats as a green cane. Not to mention, Aghanim’s Shard doesn’t cost an inventory. Deciding which item to build becomes even more difficult for supports when gold is in abundance for them. Therefore, having more investment options of only 1400 helps a lot more support.
Bane – Support Aghanim’s Shard
Fiends’ Grip – Fiend’s Grip now creates an uncontrollable illusion that also channels Fiend’s Grip on the target. The illusion takes 750% damage and dies instantly if the channel is interrupted.
This isn’t a bad upgrade from Aghanim’s Shard, it ensures that Fiend’s Grip keeps going even when Bane’s channel has been interrupted. In case no one is there, it allows Bane to not need a Channel and use other skills while illusion channel Fiend’s Grip for the first time. But it is not a priority item for Bane as it does not enhance the skill’s effect. We might not need Support Aghanim’s Shard if we picked a better position so Bane is the last hero on the list.
Fissure – Reduces the Fissure cooldown by 2 seconds and allows you to move on it. When cast spells, the aftershock effect takes place all over the Fissure.
The upgraded Fissure guarantees a 3.25-second stun, thanks to the Aftershock that affects those near Fissure. Going on Fissure sounds pretty cool, but it doesn’t make this ES top 10 because Blink and Aghanim’s Scepter got so much better for this hero. Aghanim’s Shard is not very good compared to what the other two items bring.
Nyx Assassin – Support Aghanim’s Shard
Vendetta (Enhanced) – Causes Vendetta’s attack to decrease magic resistance by 20% for 4 seconds. Also increases Vendetta movement speed by 40%, unlocks maximum speed.
Nyx’s chase or escape increased thanks to an additional 40% movement speed. Vendetta damage is now pure, so even if the magic resistance is subtracted before the Vendetta damage occurs, it won’t increase Vendetta’s damage. But Nyx’s other two skills will benefit, and if it’s one of Dagon’s favorites, Support Aghanim’s Shard will be of great help.
Also, it would be beneficial if your team has heroes that specialize in magic damage, like Leshrac, Lina, or Puck. Nyx is not a good farmer in the support role. Meanwhile, Blink or Spirit Vessel is usually the better first item. So, Aghanim’s Shard will have to wait for the team’s snowball speed before playing it.
Ancient Seal – Ancient Seal debuff now causes other debuffs to last 40% longer. Shows the vision of the target.
Skywrath had to prioritize Rod of Atos as the first item, but Aghanim’s Shard could be a second choice if the game requires it. With Level 15 Talent, the Ancient Seal has no time-out and Aghanim’s Shard can vision enemies during fights, and increase debuff duration like stuns. But since Skywrath has a lot of blood, the hero should prioritize Glimmer Cape or Eul’s to save himself over 1400 gold with no stats.
Disruptor – Support Aghanim’s Shard
Thunder Strike (Upgrade) – Allows Thunder Strike to cast on allies, follow them, and deal damage around them. Each 1-second buff increases movement speed by 50% and +75 Attack Speed (recoil distance is every 2 seconds). Radius increased to 160 when used on allies.
Disruptor is a great support to play from afar, and his Support Aghanim’s Shard is no exception. In case the team is in the lead or in balance with the opponent, this Shard is a strong buff for Carry like Alchemist, Bristleback, Phantom Assassins, Specter or Sven, heroes who like to rush in and punch the opponent.
Movement speed and buff attack speed are added quite a lot and with the +3 Thunder Strike talent, it ensures your teammates get 7 times their total buff. In case the team is cornered, this Shard won’t be of much help and it would be better to get the item to save you.
