Biomutant is Experiment 101 developer Experiment 101’s first open-world action RPG, led by former Just Cause team members. Like that series, the game is a chaotic riot. It’s also a huge game — the 64 square kilometers that make up its map are packed with side quests, optional boss encounters, and secret locations to find. With such a link in the time ahead, there are a few tips and tricks that will help you make the most of your adventure.
Invest In Luck Attribute
Each time you level up in Biomutant, you will increase 10 points in one of the six attributes (life, strength, intelligence, agility, charisma, and luck). Regardless of how you plan to speculate your character, choosing to increase your luck early is extremely beneficial.
Higher luck not only gives you a better chance of hitting the important shots, but it also gives you a better chance of scoring the loot. Battles can be challenging and you’ll need any help to improve your odds of finding rare and high-quality gear and health items. You’ll level up pretty quickly, so don’t worry about your health and damage right out of the portal.
Crowd Control Abilities – Biomutant
Unless it’s a proper boss fight, you’ll rarely fight one on one. You often find yourself completely surrounded by enemies. Having a few crowd control abilities on hand is crucial to survival. PSI-Power like Freeze or Mucus Bubble will keep you from getting overwhelmed.
Remember that while you only need bio points to unlock mutants, unlocking PSI-Powers requires you to meet the Dark Aura or Light Aura requirements along with PSI points. These Aura points can only be obtained through dialogue choices. Take a look at the PSI-Powers list and plan to make specific Aura decisions ahead of time to unlock what you want.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – Biomutant
When you have a decent amount of money in your wallet, you’re better off dismantling your device than selling it. Breaking up your unwanted items will give you resources that you will use to craft weapons and install armor add-ons. Continually upgrading your equipment should be your top priority. Mainly check stores for base weapon parts, as what you craft will often be more powerful than what you can buy.
Commit Fully To One Aura
Choosing to go the gray ethical route seems to be the logical way to unlock new PSI-Powers, and that’s true for most cases. But you are likely to lean more towards Dark or Light Aura’s decision than both. Embrace this and stick to an Aura path to make sure you hit enough Aura points to unlock its full roster of powers. All your gear and character progress will be carried over to the New Game+, so you’ll be able to reap the benefits of your original choice while going the opposite way in the next playthrough.
Unlock Health Injector
Plenty of open-world games have offered a hovercraft mechanic since The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Biomutant is no different. Therefore, you can choose the Glider functionality when you unlock your first Automaton upgrade. However, you should prioritize Health Injector instead. Having an extra heal in your back pocket is invaluable in tough battles. The glider is relatively useless in terms of traversal support anyway, so don’t worry about limiting your exploration.
