Call of Duty Weapons: ISO SMG Setup Guide

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 just started and brought us two new weapons among other things. We’ve tried both and are about to have setup instructions for one of them – the ISO SMG, along with a setup guide for the AN-94 to follow in the near future.

The ISO SMG in Short

ISO SMG is unlocked at Level 15 via Battle Pass Part 5. As an SMG, it faces stiff competition from the MP5, MP7, and Fennec, all of which are the most popular weapons in the whole Modern Warfare and Warzone.

It probably won’t upset the meta and in our opinion, it couldn’t be superior to any of the previously mentioned SMGs. That doesn’t mean it’s bad on its own. ISO is a very solid SMG that does exactly what you expect. It has a high rate of fire and an easy-to-control recoil that makes it work well at short distances and to protect buildings. If you get bored with the MP5 or Fennek, you’ll find a solid alternative here.

How to Set Up the ISO SMG

You get the best out of the ISO SMG with this setup:

The most important thing here is to maximize the effective range and carry a larger magazine as the 30 conventional bullets run out very quickly:

  • Barrel: FSS nighthade
  • Laser: Tactical laser
  • Stock: ISO foldable
  • Underbarrel: Commando Fore Grip
  • Ammo: 50 tablets empty

The gun barrel gives us the most advantages because it incorporates silencers and increases the range and bullet speed. With a 50-bullet magazine, we make sure we always have enough ammo in the ice to take out some of the enemies, because ISO, like Fennec, consumes all the magazine in an instant. With stocks and lasers, we increase the aiming speed and compensate for the downside of the large magazine. To reduce recoil, even more, we use the Commando Fore Grip.

This setup makes this weapon a submachine gun with a good balance between a high rate of fire and a good range. Those who have already unlocked ISO should definitely try it out. It might still not be the MP5, but it’s got its own merits.

Another ISO setup

  • Barrel: FSS Nightshade
  • Rear Grip: STAC Elite ISO Grip
  • Ammunition: 50 Round Mag
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Stock: FTAC Vagrant
  • Laser: No Changes
  • Perk: No Perk
  • Optic: No Changes
  • Muzzle: No Changes

As for ISO SMG, we’re mostly solely focused on increasing the gun’s range and compensating for the ADS (aim-down) penalties we’ll get. For the barrel, I recommend using FSS Nightshade as it both acts as a suppressing tool while increasing Bullet Speed, Damage Range, and Recoil Control.

This frees up an attachment location and, importantly, keeps us off the minimap. While you can run Tactical Suppression, increasing that range is always helpful for submachine guns. Another attachment you’ll want to use is the 50 Round Mag, as it ensures we have enough ammo to kill a fully armored opponent. Like previous SMGs, this attachment is a must-have, as the base clip is too small for Warzone.
