Dead by Daylight is the most multiplayer horror game currently in the gaming world, and for good reason. It has a passionate community that is only growing, a hardworking team, and a near-constant level of new things to do in their season, the Rift.
Play More Characters
The first of our Dead by Daylight tips is about everyone. Both the killers and the survivors have access to their own perks. For example, if you choose Claudette as the first to level up and play, you will only have immediate access to Self-Care, Empathy, and Botany Knowledge.
However, once you get to level 35, their perks will start to unlock and will usually be orange. Unlocking that perk will allow other survivors to access the perk as they level up. Leveling up and perks work the same way for killers, so don’t be afraid to level up and get all those perks!
Know Your Powers – Dead by Daylight
When you play the role of a killer, you will have your very own, unique powers. This comes with both strengths and weaknesses and it is up to you to figure out what they are so you can take advantage of the strengths and overcome the weaknesses through the use of perks.
For example, if you’re playing The Doctor, you’ll be able to use your main power to send out a shockwave that will alert you to the whereabouts of survivors. However, power can only go so far, and some survivors can hide in lockers to overcome power. Keeping these strengths and weaknesses in mind can help you plan your next move.
Gens Before Friends – Dead by Daylight
A survivor’s main goal is to complete five generators, power the exit gate, and get out of that hell! So while it may seem like rushing to rescue your friends right when they’re stuck is the best idea, what if you’re about to finish the job of a generator? Sit down and get to work! If the hooked survivor doesn’t fight, they’ll have a full minute before the fight phase comes in. They have time and you should be able to complete the generator before fetching them.
Of course, if all your friends are dying, then the generator will have to wait. But really, just use your common sense, and you good to go.
Know When A Chase Is Going On
As a killer in Dead by Daylight, your job is to keep an eye on the generators and kill the survivors trying to power them up. It’s a tougher job than you can imagine, especially when you have 4 survivors and only one of you! This is where the ‘chase a survivor and kill them’ mindset comes in. You see a survivor; You have to take them down, right? Well, to take down a survivor takes two hits, and then you have to carry them and pick them up to hook.
That could take, in the shortest possible time, 10 seconds. But if a survivor knows what they’re doing, they can grab you and run you around in minutes. By that point, most of the generators are done and you only have one survivor hooked up to show off. That’s why you need to know when to chase and harass out-of-clan survivors. It is this rule that will make you stand out from the rest and will help you improve your ranking as a killer.
