Overwatch: Female pro Aspen tops North American leaderboard

Overwatch Female Professional player Becca “Aspen” Rukavina has claimed to be the best support player in North America.

Female’s Overwatch Pro Aspen has climbed to the top of the ranks in North America with 4,700 SR. The talented player plays a variety of support heroes, including Brigitte, Ana, Mercy, and Lucio. For this season, She has mostly used Baptise and Lucio to climb the ladder since the team’s rush-down compositions dominate the meta.

Aspen was met with toxicity from Overwatch community

Considering the success, the news was met with a lot of toxicity from the Overwatch community. In response to her tweet, a lot of men said that using Baptise was a “easy” way to get to the top. Others claimed that Aspen had been uploaded to the leaderboard.

One male Twitter user even claimed that she was rank 1 due to a lack of people playing right now. Luckily, a lot of people in the esports community had Aspen back. This includes the Overwatch pro Timo “Taimou” Kettunen and the commentator Jack Wright, who called her a “legend.”

She has been playing Overwatch on Twitch

Aspen has been streaming on Twitch since 2017, most of which have been playing Overwatch. She signed a contract with Cloud9 as a content creator, which lasted from 2018 to 2019. She made the decision to leave the organization and announced that she was going to be pro around that time. Her main objective was to compete in the Overwatch League.

Unfortunately, a lot of harassment has been brought down by Aspen. On February 2, She said that she was “giving up” mentally because of the amount of hatred she had received.

Given that Aspen hit number one, it seems that she struggled with some of her doubts and mental exhaustion to prove herself within the game. Many fans congratulated her on this achievement and seem convinced that the Overwatch League team will notice it in the near future.
