For a Free to Play character, Genshin Impact Kaeya is surprisingly useful. His Elemental Burst is long-lasting and still exists when he is not on the field, and Frostgnaw (his Elemental Skill) is very flammable and applies Cryo in AoE quite well, if limited.
That makes him a contender to be considered on your running list as a really good committee. Here’s how to get the most out of Kaeya.
Genshin Impact Kaeya guide
Although you can use most damage swords on Genshin Impact Kaeya, his kit is not well established for DPS focus. Instead, you should look for a more supportive option.
Topping that list are the following beauties:
Like all versions of the Sacrifice prototype, the Sacrifice offers excellent Refueling (perfect for spamming Kaeya’s Elemental Bombs) and also has the Compound skill, adding 40% more muscle. guild ends the Elemental Skill’s cooldown immediately after using that ability to damage an opponent. Frostgnaw has been extremely flammable, which is just helpful.
A sword gives more Cryo, more time.
Cool Steel gives decent Raw Attack stats (nothing to sniff out), but more importantly increases the damage on enemies affected by Hydro and Cryo by 12%, which is too easy for Kaeya. . Even more intriguing is the fact that it’s a 3 * Weapon, making it easy to farm and refine that ability up to 24% amp at Rank 5.
Another 3 * option, but this one is about making a little more explosive damage from Kaeya before you switch him out. With a 50% chance to activate, it’s not difficult to acquire the Gash skill, increasing the damage done by 240% to one target every 15 seconds.
Throw Frostgnaw out, attack 1-3 times to enhance his abilities, activate his Elemental Burst and this weapon is sure to be a lot more dangerous than its 3 * rating.
If you want to run Genshin Impact Kaeya as a DPS option, then The Flute, Aquila Favonia, and Black Sword are all worthy choices.
Noblesse Oblige is also a powerful option, especially on a build that relies more on his Elemental Burst damage rather than being completely easy to find.
If you want to run him as a DPS choice, Gladiator’s Finale 4-piece full is your best choice. An additional 48% damage on basic attacks is best in class.
Kaeya’s priority stats are relatively straightforward: improving the frequency of his Elemental Burst availability and
- Energy Recharge Hourglass
- Cryo DMG Goblet
Sub Stats Priority
- Energy Recharge
- Elemental Mastery
- You should prioritize Crit Rate to Crit DMG for a DPS build.
Play Patterns – Genshin Impact Kaeya
Kaeya found her niche in the comrade’s composition thanks to her Flammable Elemental Skills, Frostgnaw, and her tenacious Elemental Burst, Glacial Waltz.
A full combo for Genshin Impact Kaeya involves casting Frostgnaw on a group of enemies to apply Cryo, attacking a few times to activate any Weapon Ability (see: Fillet Blade), then using Glacial Waltz. Before switching to a team member can use the Cryo Ongoing Damage application.
You can turn back to Kaeya relatively often whenever you need to reapply Cryo due to Frostgnaw’s low cooldown, waiting for Glacial Waltz to actually do full damage to your team.
Pyro users like Xiangling and Diluc coordinate well with Kaeya, as they can trigger the Melting and Attack Elemental Reaction at a very good coordination range with Glacial Waltz (Example: Xiangling’s Elemental Cannon. equivalent to Pyro of Kaeya’s Burst).
The power user is another good option, as Superconduct provides a 40% reduction in physical RES to enemies, as well as the Hydro for Freeze + Shatter combo.
