Choose Your Focus – One Step From Eden

After finishing the first battle in each run, you can view your deck. Do so and scroll to the top and you will see that there is a question mark or two. If you choose these cards, you can choose a focal point, which increases your chances of finding cards from those specific categories in your upcoming rewards.

Some characters already start with focus, but you can change them as often as you like. This means that if you find an item that deals ice damage much more useful, then you can focus on Anima to increase your chances of finding more ice cards.

Don’t Always Take Cards

On the subject of cards, you don’t always want to get them. Well, you might want to get them, but that doesn’t always mean you should. Instead, sometimes skipping the bonus can allow you to keep a more focused deck, and that allows you to improve your chances of winning. That said, it’s sometimes fun to just take the best card each time and hope you can survive a run of total chaos under your control.

Dance With Me – One Step From Eden

One Step From Eden

A lot of the battles in One Step From Eden involve movement, but where you move is what matters. In general, you should try to avoid corners as you can end up getting stuck, but you also really need to watch out for attacks that break tiles on your side of the field. Of course, you can use this ability to your advantage to stop your enemies, but you also need to be mindful of your own situation.

In addition, each boss has its own attack and style, but Violette in particular requires you to move in a certain way. You’ll notice after your first encounter with her that she does an inevitable all-out attack after playing some music. It deals a huge amount of damage, and it can be a nasty fight. The trick is to stay in the squares with the musical notes while she’s playing as they give you a shield and allow you to survive the attack.

Beware The Shopkeeper

One Step From Eden

One character is the shop owner. The salesman is a helpful character, the salesman; can be a little weird, but hey, maybe you deserve it. You will notice that you can attack the Shopkeeper because she has health. If you can defeat her, you will unlock the ability to play her. That’s great, isn’t it? Yes, yes, but keep in mind that she is probably the strongest enemy in the game and will happily mock you for trying to go against her. Just don’t accidentally attack her if you’re on a good run.
