Valorant flash agents have always been a threat, but new agent Yoru is overpowering them all with a kit that makes him perhaps the most deadly duelist in the game right now.
Not only that, but Omen was upstaged by the 14th agent with respect to his ability to teleport. This combination gives Yoru the potential no other agent can pull off maneuvers.
It’s not an easy job to open Bombsite B on Ascent. With one end against a hurry, the narrow hallway could easily give an ace to enemy Raze or Brimstone.
It is, however, the easiest place to protect post-plant successfully, which is why attackers continue to search for ways to open B. The toolkit of Yoru enables him to tackle this issue in a specific way.
How to use Yoru’s abilities on Ascent
Yoru is able to singlehandedly get on the attacking side inside Bomb point B. The Japanese agent can push onto the site and flank the enemy team with a free signature Gatecrash ability and 200 creds worth of Blindside.
Stand on the right corner of B’s main entrance for this line-up. Aim at the top of the house and use the ability to use Gatecrash. It will take eight seconds for the glowing tether rift to breeze into the Boathouse and hit the corner eventually.
Keep a close eye on the radar, and as soon as the tether comes to a stop, launch the flash following the same lineup. Right after deploying the flash, press the Gatecrash activation key.
Yoru is going to teleport inside the Boathouse, a perfect spot to take down enemies defending the B-site. Since the Boathouse is a popular camping site for defenders, the flash will allow Yoru to safely teleport while enemies are blinded.
From here, a stealth agent can take the enemy by surprise and shoot them down. If the target duel fails, the flash-teleport will distract enemies enough to weaken their B-main defenses, making it easier for others to enter.
Is Yoru better than Omen?
Previously, with Sage’s help, Omen players were able to move silently inside B site. Besides that, Yoru’s teleport allows him to gain entry without any support. Unlike other Duelists, the Yoru has a tactical toolkit that requires practice and time.
His abilities may not be as offensive as Raze or Jett, but his ability to set up finesse plays sets him apart from most other Valorant agents.
It’s too early to say whether Yoru is going to dethrone Omen as the most-played agent. His interesting kit, however, guarantees a high pick rate among the professional players.
