Wildermyth Guide – Useful Tips And Tricks For Beginners

Wildermyth

As a strategy-based RPG with both an underworld map and an in-depth combat system, Wildermyth can be quite challenging, especially if you choose to play on higher difficulty levels. This is a game about a group of ordinary people trying to prevent disaster from engulfing the land, so it’s not too surprising when things go wrong. That’s why we’ve put together this list of tips and tricks to get you started.

Don’t Get Too Old

Wildermyth

Whether it’s the best way to use your combat abilities and classes, or your pick and choose, our collection of tips and tricks will make getting started a lot easier.

Wildermyth allows you to randomly arrange your characters, making it easy to quickly start a campaign and move. But you can also change their three defining hooks, change their stats, and, more importantly, their retirement age.

In an escalating difficulty campaign, one of the hardest things to manage is the retirement of your heroes, because if they leave before the end of the campaign, you may lose strong characters. his strongest at the most difficult time of the campaign. Retirement age can also be increased through side quests and narrative events.

Keeping Overwatch – Wildermyth

When fighting a horde of powerful monsters, you can easily be overwhelmed. This is why overriding abilities like Archer’s ambush and Warrior’s sentinel are so powerful, especially if you choose to upgrade which means they block enemy movement when activated.

Mystic can also interfere with objects so you pin enemies in place, you can equip a throw net to your character, or Archers can gain trap abilities to stop enemies from advancing. Controlling your monsters’ movements and scoring them means you can handle them one by one to avoid being overwhelmed.

Cultivate New Talent – Wildermyth

Wildermyth

In the game’s five-chapter campaigns, it’s almost inevitable that some characters will retire. When they do, their children often take their place, but these adventurers are inexperienced and have trouble dealing with late-game enemies. Much better is recruiting villagers using inheritance points whenever you get the chance, allowing you to naturally level up backup characters as you progress in the campaign.

Don’t Do Everything

It may not look like it on the surface, but in many ways, Wildermyth is a resource management game. You fight monster destruction on tiles and tackle them to get resources for crafting. The thing is, every time you fight, the monster gets upgraded as a scourge card, so your pick and choice of battle are actually pretty important.

If you do everything and clear each tile, you will be fighting the hardest possible version of those monsters, especially since clearing tiles takes time and more disaster cards are added based on the timer. I often find that I have too many resources late in the game that I’m willing to trade to reduce enemy difficulty.

Plus, the more tiles you clear, the more peacetime you get, which brings your adventurers closer to retirement before the campaign ends. You’re better off keeping it to a minimum and focusing on your main task.
